"The magic of creation is most alive within
the chaos of uncertainty."

With a natural curiosity for how things are made, Dawn is drawn to beautiful forms, unique textures and patterns influenced by her childhood and life's travels. She is imaginative and innovative in her use of materials.

Born and raised in Miami, Dawn was greatly influenced early on by a family of creatives. With a natural curiosity for how things are made and an innate sense of design, Dawn was destined to become an artist. She learned quickly, traveling the world observing people, their language, art and architecture. Her vision was tuned to the variety and beauty of the colors, shapes and forms in the world around her. Such an eclectic approach to life empowered her as she stepped into the world of fashion and beauty.

Dawn’s art is a meditation into the unknown. She views each project through the eyes of an explorer and is quite fearless as a visual storyteller. Her discerning eye and love for line infuse inanimate objects with life. She works as a sculptor and a painter bringing sculptural elements to all of her mixed media on canvas.

She is imaginative and innovative in her use of materials, especially drawn to ephemeral curves, strong forms and powerful lines. Her belief that the magic of creation is most alive within the chaos of uncertainty elevates her work and keeps her focused on process rather than result.

An eclectic collection of textures, materials, and colors from different pockets of the world find new life.

Travel has always been a deeply intimate experience for me. These collected memories of textures, materials, art and architecture from different pockets of the world find new life as they leave the abstract of thought and memory for a tangible home on canvas or sculpture.

These collections of memories and interactions directly speak to my work’s relationship to time and space, using metallic hues to shape and punctuate my perception of a moment that has already passed. Movement is an important part of my process, especially prominent in my sculpture work. Because mixed media is influenced by many definitive sculptural elements, I’m fascinated with the lost wax process of sculpting. Simply put, there’s an intoxicating energy in molten bronze as it flows and dances into each new mold.
